Irvington, sometimes known as Irvington-on-Hudson, is an affluent suburban village in the town of Greenburgh in Westchester County, New York. The area has a population of 6,420. The village was named Irvington in 1854 to honor the American author Washington Irving and was incorporated on April 16, 1872.
