Colors and Prints to Embrace This Year

Now that we are a few weeks into the new year, it’s time to decide which trends we will embrace and which we will leave behind. It may be tempting to stick to a neutral, gray color palette, but we have a list of fun colors and prints to embrace in 2021. From various animal prints to pops of color, get ready to infuse personality and spunk into your space. Here are five design trends to embrace this year:

Classic Blue
Although Classic Blue started rising in popularity last year, we don’t see this color going away soon. When using a new color in your space, you first need to decide how you want to incorporate it. With a color like classic blue, you could paint your dining room walls in the shade to create a more intimate gathering space. But, if a blue room isn’t your thing, consider investing in a blue velvet couch, a blue bar cabinet, or a blue-based lamp. How big or small you go is up to you!

Black and White
In modern design, using black and white is one way to create stunning and dramatic decor. You can incorporate this color trend all over the home, from accent pieces like tables and artwork to your furniture and trim. This timeless color combination is perfect for any decorating style. However, if your home is modern or contemporary, including this combo is a no-brainer.

Cheetah Print
Cheetah print is back and better than ever. To some, cheetah may even be considered neutral. That’s because its tan, white, and brown colors can complement various other colors ranging from cool to warm. If you’re hesitant about incorporating this classic print into your home decor, start slow. You can place a cheetah print welcome mat in your entryway, or if you want to make a slightly bigger statement, a cheetah print accent chair works great in a living room or office.

Zebra Print
Cheetah print isn’t the only popular animal print on the scene. Zebra print will breathe new life into your space and create new focal points in your room. When you embrace this print, you’re also able to incorporate the black and white trend too. Incorporate this print through throw pillows or an area rug. If you’re looking for something a little different, consider cabinetry with zebra print faces.

Animals as the Print
Kick your animal print love up a notch and find fabrics that feature the animal itself! When we talk about animal prints, we’re not limiting it to spots and stripes. Look for accent chairs that feature actual zebras, tigers, or elephants in their pattern. This is perfect for those who like the bohemian home decor style.
